Fire Resistive Benefits

Cast Iron Will Not Melt or Burn.

When implementing a DWV plumbing system, choose cast iron soil pipe. Unlike other plumbing options, cast iron soil pipe will neither melt nor burn. It is non-combustible and it will not emit toxic fumes in a fire.

For high-rise building including hotels, condominiums, commercial and any other large building type benefit from a cisp system.

Did you Know?

FACT: Cast iron soil pipe systems maximum working temperature is 212 degrees Fahrenheit.

FACT: Cast iron can withstand temperatures well beyond 212 degrees. A CISP system is only limited by the gasket material.

Strength. Performance. Life Safety.

Like first responders, American-made cast iron soil pipe doesn’t buckle under pressure. CISP firestopping provides another way to minimize damage and risk. Cast iron requires installers to only seal the annular space between the wall and the pipe. Mineral wool batting and fire-resistant caulking are used to fill the annual space. Other plumbing systems require additional materials, time and labor that increase costs and if not installed correctly could cause harm.
