Meet Your Cast Iron Crew – Roman Grier

As CISPI’s newest Cast Iron Crew member, Atlanta-based Roman Grier has worked at the Institute since January 2017. With a background selling commercial kitchen faucets as a manufacturers’ rep, Roman has relied heavily on CISPI’s Cast Iron Soil Pipe and Fittings Handbook, ASPE chapter meetings and ASPE Connect to deepen his knowledge about the plumbing industry.

His “beat” is the Southeast region, including Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Southern Ohio.

“I love that I get to wake up every day and promote an incredible product that is made right here in America!”

Fortunately, Roman loves to travel. As the starting goalkeeper for the U. S. Men’s Paralympic National Soccer team, he has traveled to over 20 countries across North and South America, and Europe. Roman proudly recalls hearing the U.S. national anthem before every match while representing his country.

When not working, Roman enjoys spending time with family and friends at his lake house. During the COVID 19 lockdown he helped with his two young children’s virtual learning, cooked on his Big Green Egg and got to know his neighbors. Roman is a fan of Johnny Cash and Elvis, the Atlanta Braves and Alabama football. He likes to relax watching episodes of “Friends” and “King of the Hill” with his wife and cats, Stars and Stripes, nearby.

Working with the Institute was destiny. While at Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky, Roman noticed member product under the grandstands – with a date and time-stamp coinciding with the start of his CISPI training!
